FNHA counselling
Online FNHA Counselling in British Columbia
FNHA counselling is mental health counselling accessed through the First Nations Health Authority Mental Wellness and Counselling benefit. The benefit exists so that eligible First Nations clients in BC can reach qualified mental health providers without cost being the first barrier.
This practice provides that counselling online. Sessions are held by secure video or by phone, so you can meet from home, from a family member's house or from anywhere private in the province. For clients in rural, remote and northern communities, online counselling often removes hours of travel.
Seeing a provider registered with the Health Benefits Program matters, because the program covers counselling delivered by providers it recognizes. That is why we ask about your coverage early and confirm the process before your first session, rather than leaving you to sort out paperwork on your own.
Whether you are searching for FNHA mental health counselling, an online counsellor in BC, or simply someone to talk to, you are welcome to reach out with questions before committing to anything.

Meet Your Counsellor — Mukesh Mishra, RCSW
Mukesh Mishra is a Registered Clinical Social Worker, registered in both British Columbia and Alberta, who provides counselling to adults dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, grief, trauma-related difficulties, relationship strain and major life transitions.
His approach is client-centred and trauma-informed: he begins with listening, takes cultural context seriously, and works collaboratively rather than handing out advice. Counselling is delivered online, which has allowed him to support clients who live far from urban centres or who prefer the privacy of meeting from home.
You can expect a calm, unhurried conversation, clear explanations of how counselling works, and full respect for your right to decide what you share.

Benefits
Understanding FNHA Mental Health Benefits
The First Nations Health Authority administers health benefits for eligible First Nations people in British Columbia. Its Mental Wellness and Counselling benefit is intended to give eligible clients access to counselling from qualified mental health providers, including virtual and Telehealth appointments.
For counselling to be covered, clients need to see a provider registered with the Health Benefits Program, and FNHA advises clients to mention their Health Benefits coverage when scheduling an appointment. Session limits and approval requirements are set by the program.
Questions about your FNHA benefits?
For questions about eligibility, coverage amounts, approvals or claims, contact FNHA Health Benefits directly — they are the authority on your file and can confirm exactly what you are entitled to. We are an independent counselling practice and cannot decide coverage on FNHA's behalf.
If you would rather start by talking with a counsellor, you can contact FNHA Counselling and we will help you understand the next steps.
